We are green

We are green!

We use soy ink

According to The Environmental Paper Network, each ton of 40% post-consumer recycled fiber utilized saves 12 to 24 trees and provides a wood fiber savings of up to 310 percent. Paper makes up nearly 40% of the municipal solid waste stream.

We can fix this problem.

We’re doing our part to recycle, reduce, and reuse further reducing emissions in an industry where high carbon emissions are no longer justified.

40% Pre- & Post-Consumer Recycled Papers

It’s easy to look at our planet and see the limited amounts of resources that nature provides to us, trees are certainly no exception. That’s why GreatFX and our suppliers are committed to to bringing you pre- & post-consumer recycled papers with only a small increase in cost.

Low-VOC Biodegradable Inks & Solvents

Is your printer using petroleum or vegetable-base inks & solvents? This is an important question for any print buyer to ask if you are interested in reducing your carbon footprint on this planet. We believe every little bit helps.

We know petroleum, the most common ink-base used by other Internet printers, emits Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the air during the drying process. As an alternative, soy is a vegetable and not a mineral – Soy Inks emit very little VOC when drying.

Our press recorded VOC levels are some of the lowest in the world and much lower than the required amounts set by the South Coast Air-Quality Management District.

Because Soy Inks are water and not oil based, they are easily washable and cause less damage to the paper fibers. As a result, the recycled paper is bright and fit for reuse. Soy oil is more clear than petroleum oil is, thus you will see brighter more vibrant colors from soy ink printing.

The result? Reduced impact on forest resources, reduced air and water pollution, reduced water and energy consumption, and the reduction of solid waste.
